New Member Organization – Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority Inc

DELTA XI NU JOINS NATIONAL MULTICULTURAL GREEK COUNCIL

October 1st 2016: The National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC) is pleased to welcome Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority Incorporated as our 12th Member Organization.

 
“Delta Xi Nu is a fantastic organization with a solid commitment to multiculturalism spanning almost two decades,” said Jen Rencher, NMGC President. “Their addition will strengthen our Midwest presence and I look forward to their contributions to our council.”

“Delta Xi Nu lives by our motto of cherishing sisterhood, embracing different cultures and fostering education. As we continue to expand, we look forward to working with the different fraternal organizations that are a part of NMGC & collaborating on new ideas & projects that we can share with our members,” said DXN National President Victoria J Valdez. “Furthermore, we are excited about the opportunities NMGC will bring our organization in helping aid our commitment to spreading diversity & multiculturalism in our local communities & throughout the world.”

Delta Xi Nu was established at Texas A&M University on October 7th 1997 by five women who saw a need to promote friendship, diversity, and cultural awareness at the university and in the surrounding community. They envisioned an organization where women of all cultures would feel welcome, and create lasting friendships, in addition to educating and serving the community. Being Palestinian, African American, Dutch, Irish/Mexican, and Puerto Rican, the founding mothers wanted to show the world that it was their differences that had brought them together and made them stronger.

The National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC) is an umbrella council for a coalition of Multicultural Greek-letter organizations (MGLOs) established in 1998. The purpose of NMGC is to provide a forum that allows for the free exchange of ideas, programs, and services between its constituent fraternities and sororities; to promote the awareness of multicultural diversity within collegiate institutions, their surrounding communities, and the greater community-at-large, and to support and promote the works of its member organizations.
