In
the fall of 1986, twelve young men became interested in
establishing a fraternity at the College at New Paltz
because the ones active at the time did not meet their
needs. Hard work and determination led these young men
to their goal. In March of 1987, the SUNY - College at
New Paltz fully recognized the Delphic of Gamma Sigma
Tau Fraternity.

Psi Delta was founded on March 9, 1997 in Connecticut
in response to the growing need on campuses to unite all
women who believe in unconditional sisterhood, self-upliftment
and commitment to community. Lambda Psi Delta is
a multi-ethnic, non-profit, community service based organization
that works for the betterment of all women in our society,
as well as on our campuses in our communities. Our
program of activities on both the collegiate and national
levels is based on our Five Tenets that represent the
virtues & goals of Lambda Psi Delta Sorority, Inc.

Tau Omega Sorority, Inc. was founded in 1988 by sixteen
young, intelligent and energetic womyn. The overall membership
of Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Inc. reflects diversity;
we are a myriad of ethnic, political and religious backgrounds.
With the belief in mind that education equals womyn's
empowerment, we were founded on superior scholarship and
we vow to advance our academic ideals at every college
and university that we may reach.

Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Inc. was founded on November 21,
1981 at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ as the first
Multicultural Greek Sorority celebrating culture for over
two decades. The founders were five women determined to
establish an organization that brought together all women.
It was their limitless vision that enabled these determined
women to break down the barriers and build the bridges
that connected women from all different parts of the world.
Hence, our motto "Mujeres Siempre Unidas," or
"Women Always United."

Sigma Chi is a coalition of professionals and students
dedicated to bettering the state of our communities through
political pressure, educational projects and direct volunteering.
Phi Sigma Chi was founded by six men who sought to establish
an organization that would build tomorrow's leaders. Phi
Sigma Chi's philosophy is that a strong group must be
comprised of strong individuals, and therefore concentrates
on the development of the individual and his place in
our community.

the unifying forces may have been, on November 1, 1993,
Chi Sigma Upsilon was conceived at Rutgers University
by a group of women in search of a sisterhood. By providing
services to the college and external communities, we attempt
to bring about a new-found sense of empowerment to all
those we reach. In doing so we allow ourselves to be positively
influenced and shall use this power to come full-circle
as accomplished women in all educational, social and personal
endeavors.
