PSI SIGMA PHI MULTICULTURAL FRATERNITY, INCORPORATED was co-founded on December 12, 1990 at Montclair State University and New Jersey City University in New Jersey by eighteen radical, illustrious, revolutionary gentlemen with one goal, to break social fears, racial ignorance, intolerance and bring forth awareness of multiculturalism into our society while achieving lifelong education and co-existence among men of diverse cultural backgrounds, ethnicity, race and beliefs.

Before 1990, male college students were limited by the availability of fraternities throughout the State of New Jersey. At that time, Latin-American, African-American, Asian-American and mainstream fraternities were the predominant choice for males wishing to join a fraternity.

The organization’s Founders felt the need to create an organization which not only offered a bond of unity and lasting friendship, but a fraternity which would emphasize the importance of multiculturalism in the lives of today’s college students. This is why the foundation of Psi Sigma Phi Multicultural Fraternity Incorporated is deeply rooted in the education of multiculturalism, diversity and tolerance.
